Amalia Pica

Amalia Pica’s (Argentina, 1978) conceptual practice highlights the limitations of language in the collective struggle to make ourselves understood. Working with sculpture, drawing and installation, Pica has engaged with memories to explore how art and life are both characterized by missed signals and gaps. Pica’s work continues to underline the simultaneous urgency and failure of human communication. Mingling colour and language, Pica joyfully dissents from the oppressive everyday uses of language.
