Luke Fowler

Luke Fowler (Scotland, 1978) is an artist, filmmaker and musician. His work explores the limits and conventions of biographical and documentary filmmaking. Working with archival footage, photography and sound, Fowler’s filmic montages combine self-shot 16mm footage in order to reveal his own relationship to historic moments and thus brings together personal associations with social and political subject matter. Fowler is also involved in experimental music and it forms the focus of several of his films. He works with musician Richard Youngs and runs the record label Shadazz.
