Une Machine Simple
Netwerk est fier d’annoncer la co-production de La Mesure Végétale, le nouveau film des artistes Fabien Giraud & Raphaël Siboni, tourné à Svalbard. Le film sera projeté pour la première fois à l’occasion de leur première exposition solo en Belgique, à Netwerk.
Formés dans les domaines du documentaire et du cinéma, Giraud et Siboni font porter leur recherche sur la perception du monde par l’homme, l’évolution des techniques, les périodes temporelles et les changements d’échelle, qui nous ont amenés à une vision du monde qui excède largement la mesure de l’homme.
“A simple machine is a term coined in the 18th century to describe a mechanical device able to change the direction or magnitude of a force. Classically there are 6 such elementary devices: the lever, the wheel, the pulley, the inclined plane, the wedge and the screw. This show is conceived as an addition to this list. It makes the hypothesis that an exhibition – any exhibition – may very well be nothing else than another crude and rudimentary attempt in this mechanics of inflection.”
