East Germany: summer 1980. The young doctor Barbara wants to leave the country and has asked for a visa, but rather than fulfil the applicant's request, she is transferred to the countryside. She departs in the hope that her beloved Jörg, from West Germany, is preparing their escape ... In the countryside she fails to adjust to the life of her surroundings. Her boss, Andre, appreciates her work, but why does he devote so much attention to her? Does he belong to the Stasi? Or is he in love with her...
