Stan Brakhages Sirius Remembered / Andrej Tarkovski’s Solaris

De Kijkdichtheid van de Hemel

MO 18.05 2009 — 20:30

De Kijkdichtheid van de Hemel is a new film series in Netwerk in collaboration with Visual Arts Academy of Aalst, where timeless film classics are linked to great experimental films and the exhibitions.

Solaris (Andrei Tarkovsky)
For his most famous film, a science fiction novel by Stanislaw Lem inspired the Russian Andrei Tarkovsky. A psychologist investigates to see if the strange behaviour of a crew can be explained by phenomena related to the nearby planet Solaris. By using pure long camera shots and slow camera movements he creates an atmosphere where the viewer's sense of time is lost.
